This Goddess Session gave me an opportunity to celebrate LIFE!
I am so grateful to Kimberly Ann Empowerment Photography for this experience! As I've endured the past two years of chemotherapy for Stage 4 Colon Cancer, I find myself feeling old, unhealthy, and worn down. It has tested my faith and has shaken my confidence. This Goddess Session gave me an opportunity to celebrate LIFE! Kim guided me every step of the way, encouraging me to overcome my self doubt. I treated myself to a new dress, and a crown! How frivolous! I had a reason to wear makeup and fix my hair. With the side effects of chemo, my appearance had been a source of sadness. I felt so beautiful for my photo shoot! Kim encouraged me throughout the planning, and even had the beautiful vision of including my rosary in the shoot. She brought my birthday balloons, too! She thought of everything, and her tips leading up to the day of the shoot were incredibly helpful! I encourage anyone reading this to consider giving yourself the gift of either a Goddess Session or a Boudior Session! Kim focuses on EMPOWERMENT! This is also a beautiful gift to give to someone else, just as Kim gifted her time and talent to me. I am forever grateful.

I've never done anything like this for myself and I really needed the confidence boost.
The day of the shoot I was a little nervous. When I got to the studio Kim welcomed me right in and of course the nerves just washed away. First glance of the inside was super cozy! The door leads right into the room we shoot in and off to the side was the changing room. I was introduced to the cosmetologist and was gently eased into hair and make up! Great tunes playing in the background while I was beautified. I took one glance in the mirror and was so pleased! I had showed up in pajamas so I already felt better after seeing myself.
I changed into my first outfit and it was officially GO TIME. Kim immediately lightened the mood with the perfect line, "lets make this bed messy!" and from that moment on the entire shoot was so much fun and filled with laughter! I'm no model, I've never done this before but Kim made it so easy by both physically showing me the poses or guiding me by coaching me through each shot. I still wasn't feeling confident for a split second. In that exact moment she bent down and showed me a few pictures and I was legit shocked. I said, "No way, that's not me!" But she smiled and said, "Yes girl it is, you're beautiful!"
When it was time for my second outfit I was beyond comfortable, and we finished out the rest of the shoot with ease! Kim got back to me with my gallery of photos super-fast and I was so excited to view them all! To my surprise some of the photos I thought I wouldn't like as much, ended up being my favorite!! I legit feel like a BADASS WARRIOR MOMMA NOW!!
All in all, Kimberly Ann Empowerment Photography is a 11/10 would absolutely recommend because she is doing EXACTLY this, empowering women to remind us that we are ALL STRONG AND BEAUTIFUL. Therefore my confidence was reborn during my shoot and I have her to thank for that!

Of course I was feeling a little shy and unattractive in my own skin but Kim made me feel relaxed and confident so quickly. She talked me though each pose and would share some of shots as we went and I realized I am a strong sexy woman, that gave me the confidence to be more daring and open up. My experience with Kimberly Ann Empowerment Photography was just that, Empowering. I can’t thank her enough.
It felt good from start to finish. Walking in to a calming space. The scene was set with music playing, candles lit and a welcome sign. It was just all about me, how I felt and what I was comfortable doing.
A few years ago I would have never done “something like this”. I have been on a self care , mind and body, journey for a few years now. I felt a little nudge the first time I read that Kim would be doing this and last week I just did it!
I have learned to love my body just where I am. It has carried me through losses, surgeries, depression, anxiety, births, marriage, divorce, miscarriage, triumphs, promotions, huge weight gains and losses… and I’ve never seen myself as I do right now in this body at 43.
You never see yourself the way others see you, and in these photos I am in awe of myself.
